A Hailo-10H accelerator with its own 8 GB of RAM. Lets a Raspberry Pi 5 run vision models and small LLMs offline.
The AI HAT+ 2 sits on top of a Raspberry Pi 5 and does the heavy AI work. Its headline feature is its own 8 GB of memory. That’s what makes it possible to run language models, speech recognition and vision-language models (“what’s in this picture?”) on the Pi, completely offline.
Buy it for generative AI, not just vision. Raspberry Pi says its computer-vision performance is comparable to the original 26 TOPS AI HAT+. If you only need object detection, such as spotting a person, a bird or a failed print, the older HAT or the AI Camera costs less.
Compared with a Jetson Orin Nano, it’s lower-power and fits the Pi ecosystem you may already know, but it has less raw performance and a narrower software stack.
