Meshy

Meshy

Text-to-3D and image-to-3D generator with STL export and plugins for the major slicers, including Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer.

Strengths

  • Fastest route from an idea to a printable decorative model
  • Sends models straight into your slicer
  • Free plan is enough to try it properly

Trade-offs

  • Not for functional parts. No dimensional accuracy
  • Generated meshes often need repair or support tweaks before printing

Meshy turns a sentence or a photo into a 3D model in about a minute. For makers, the useful part is what happens next: models export as STL, and Meshy has plugins for the slicers most people already use, so a model can go from prompt to print queue without leaving your desk.

Be clear about what it’s for. AI-generated models are sculptures, not engineering. A dragon, a desk ornament, a tabletop miniature or a cosplay detail works well. A bracket that must fit a 6 mm bolt does not. For that, use a text-to-CAD tool like Zoo instead.

Expect to fix things: thin details may not print, and some meshes have holes or floating pieces. Meshy offers an STL repair tool, and your slicer’s own repair usually helps too. Start with the free plan before paying.
