xTool

xTool P2S 55W CO2

Desktop CO2 laser that cuts 18 mm wood and 20 mm acrylic in one pass, with dual cameras and passthrough.

Strengths

  • CO2 cuts clear and coloured acrylic cleanly
  • Thick-material cutting a diode can't match
  • Passthrough for long signage boards

Trade-offs

  • Large, heavy, and needs proper ventilation
  • Cannot mark bare metal without an add-on

When a diode laser stops being enough, this is the usual next step. CO2 lasers work at a wavelength that acrylic absorbs completely, so clear, blue and frosted sheets cut with flame-polished edges. They also cut thick plywood in one pass where a diode needs several.

xTool’s dual cameras and AutoPassthrough make it practical for production: place stock, preview, cut, and feed long boards through the machine.

Budget for ventilation. A 55 W CO2 laser cutting acrylic produces a lot of fumes, so plan an exhaust route to outside before you buy.
